I found these interesting little things called Window Crayons at JoAnn Fabrics. Now, this could be a good idea or a really bad idea for a 5 year old. Do I hide them and get them out on special occasions? Do I trust that he will only get them out of his desk AFTER he asks me? Will he use them as they are meant to be used? I felt confident this day to just let him "go at it".He went "at it" alright! He wrote his name, he doodled...and doodled... and doodled right into the wood casing of the window. Im so glad that's all that he decided to color. It came out and Im going to hold my breathe that our windows come out "squeeky clean".
